EMPÚRIES

Next  to L'Escala is Empúries, a place most characteristic and welcoming. Here we find the Greek - Roman town of Empúries, the first and most important Greek colony and later the Roman Empires entry port to Spain.

Today it boasts an important monographic museum as well as being the entry point to the Peninsula of the Olympic flame for the 1992 Olympic Games.
